Andy Sheppard is one of the few British Jazz musicians to have the rare honour of working with the most important contemporary American Big Band leaders/composers Gil Evans, George Russel and Carla Bley. It follows that Sheppard has often been inspired to create his own Big Band projects, most recently a commission by the Bergen Big Band for which he wrote Bump 5250. Featuring the cream of South West musicians, this will be the UK premiere of a big band suite that takes you through the ups and downs of falling in love.
