Bristol-based bassist / singer / songwriter Stevie Toddler creates utterly unique soundworlds, drawing from a whole range of genres – pop, jazz and classical – and a broad palette of artists – Pixies, St Vincent and Radiohead amongst many others. Boasting high profile fans such as Jamie Callum and Guy Garvey, Toddler’s songwriting and sound are brilliantly idiosyncratic, her bass and vocals intertwiningly magically and unexpectedly with Harriet Riley’s vibraphone, Jon Clarke’s drums and Danny Tryani’s synths. Alt-pop at its heart, but really something beautifully and completely one-off.
“An artist called Stevie Toddler made something that really grabbed my attention last week… This beautiful thing is called Such Big Ideas” – Guy Garvey, Radio 6
“Love this song, love the way it’s produced. Love the whole sound of it. This beautiful mix of jazz and pop, it feels super contemporary. Stevie Toddler. The track is called Pitchforks. Based out of Bristol. The album is called Such Big Ideas. And I’ve been binge listening to that this week. Maybe you should too.” – Jamie Cullum, Radio 2
