Tezeta are an 8 piece instrumental group combining elements of experimental jazz, afrobeat, soundtrack composition and collective improvisation. The musicians are part of Bristol based collective ‘Bloom’ and between them play with bands Yama Warashi, Count Bobo, The Evil Usses, Spindle Ensemble, Cloudshoes, Run Logan Run, Rae, Dubi Dolczek and many more.
They initially formed in 2014 to play music from ‘The Ethiopiques Volumes’, in particular the work of Mulatu Astatke, hence the name Tezeta (Ethiopian for nostalgia). Since then they have evolved under band leader Daniel Inzani into their current style with all original material, incorporating many other influences along the way.
Tezeta are playing at The Level at 3pm at Wilderness Festival
