Insight Ensemble Presents: Underground Classical

  • The Loco Klub Temple Meads Bristol, BS1 6QH UK (map)

In collaboration with The Loco Klub, Impermanence Dance Theatre and composer Liam Taylor-West, The Insight Ensemble is back with an intriguing programme including Ives, Mahler and Grieg in an historic space that has never heard music like this before.

Let your curiosity follow symphonic sounds through the old dark tunnels under Temple Meads Station. Once used to pile the ash from the steam trains above, this vast forgotten space now plays host to an ensemble of young classical musicians.

Insight Ensemble aims to bring live classical music to a wider audience by breaking out of the concert hall into unexpected venues with programmes that engage and inspire. In contrast to their sell-out debut as a string orchestra at Circomedia; this performance is an atmospheric exploration of a bewildering acoustic and a sonic experience growing from solo instruments to a full symphony orchestra.

Conductor: Nick Bromilow
Leader: Anneka Sutcliffe
